funny, awhile back i submitted a thread about movies from the 80's...well i was just sittin' here getting all nostalgic about the toys i used to have in the 80's.
transformers, night train, MASK, heman, thundercats, micro machines!...oh..the good times i had with my 80's toys
anyways....anyone know a website dedicated to all the great toys that came out in the 80's?
also, if you remember other great toys from the 80's, post em here so we can all reminisce

In junior high, a friend and I set up this enormous battlefield in his backyard with all of our G.I. Joe toys, sat on two chairs, and obliterated EVERYTHING with a bb pistol and pellet rifle.
We've always thought of going back to his parent's house to perform an archeological dig of sorts, because all the destruction was just left there, eventually covered over with dirt, plants, etc.

ya tru man! slot car racing from hotwheels was badass
it was all about precision, knowing when to hit the gas and knowing when to let go for the turns
i remember my parents where pissed that the cars kept falling off the track...they thought the toy was fucked...they just didn't get it

when i graduated high school i left all my mint g.i. joes at my mom and dads house.
i pretty much had everything starting from day one. some still in the packaging of things i had 2 and 3 of.
then my family started to have little cousins that would come over wanting toys.
in 5 years the little shits literally destroyed/took everything. i had 2 chests and 3 shelves full of toys. all but gone.
my parents say all the time that they could kick themselves in the ass for letting them play with the toys like that. who knows how many thousands of dollars they let those kids destroy.
i borrowed a bit of money from my dad halfway through college. when i graduated and found all my stuff gone he called it even cause i prolly had 5-10 grand in old toys.
i had the aircraft carrier still in it's box, unopened cause it was too big for my room. so they just left it in the attic instead of giving it to me. i can't believe it.

i had this, unopened and two of the f-14 jets along with a helicopter for the deck. i'm going to cry.

what about Gobots? and Voltron, the original. My uncle actually designed it based on the original storyboards. Not lying. He worked for toy company here in the states, on the creative team for that game Simon. Pretty sweet. I had tons of those toys and periphrenlia when i was little.

Remember that horrible song about "My buddy. Wherever he goes, I go. My buddy." or Teddy Ruxspin. those were the toys for the weaklings. mommas boys.
Remember when toy guns could actually be black? Sweet.

(Nov 14 05, 10:49)i had an ak-47 that was plastic and looked exactly like the real thing. it was an automatic cap gun.
fucking badass.
broke it in half when my fort (made from bales of straw) fell in on me.

remember "laser quest" . you had to shoot someone in the chest with your laser and it would make all kinds of crazy sounds

i used to love the old skool legos
before they sold out and did all that star wars/harry potter/jurassic park bullshit
they were great toys with the city and space and knight sets and my imagination would run wild playing with that stuff
we would play that the space guys go back in time to the days of the knights and have all sorts of adventures and sword fights and take over and change history
now its all cross-promotion and stoopid.

The ghostbusters toys were awesome, everything from the HQ that you poured the slime on, to the car, all the way to the backpack and ghost trap.
