Here are a couple of things I've noticed. I'm curious to know if anyone else has run into the same problems and if they have found ways to fix them.
issue #1: Flash sites freeze up
This issue seems to be tied into 10.3.9 (OS X) becuase my earlier operating system didn't have it. What happens is when I viist a site that has heavy Flashâ„¢ content, the movie freezed up. When I click and hold my mouse anywhere on the page, then the flash objecst start moving again. I can't close the window usually and keyboard shortcuts don't help either. I end up doing a Force Quit and start again and try to avoid heavy Flashâ„¢ sites.
Issue #2: Firefox won't load links
This happens randomly and I have yet to figure out what triggers it. Basically, the browser gets stuck in some sort of a glitch where I can't load a link in the current window. The progress bar is stuck at 0% and doesn't move. I have found a way around this problem.
What I do is,
1. Make sure I have more than one tab open2. Command+Q (quit)
3. This will prompt the Firefox warning "You have multiple tabs open, are you sure you want to close all tabs"
4. I say no
5. this gets the browser out of the glitch and the link I had clicked on loads
** for this to work, you have to select 'warn me before closing mutliple tabs' option in the preferences
....
hoping someone can shed some light on this.
Thanks

Flash + Firefox + OSX is a known issue that will hopefully be worked out one day... As for the second one, that happens to me every now and then. I find just clicking the link again does the trick.

Damn, it's good to get some validation at least. I though I was doing something wrong. Has Mozilla acknoledged this already?

this isn't an issue of how mozilla loads or handles the Flash Player plug-in. this is how macromedia has released (or not) the architecture for previous players.
i would have thought this would have been addressed in the latest v8.0 player release, but sucks it hasn't.

Firefox beta solves the Flash problem. It's a shame it's taken this long to fix, it's such a cool browser otherwise.
