pen and paper works great. i also use quickbook's timesheets and it applies the cost to the invoices.

I've been TimeCard, a free application (OSX), for about 6 months.

It's very basic, not the prettiest, but I've found it more useful than the other commercial products I've tried in the past

at my new office they use this 4th Dimension program. I haven't used it yet, apparently it's quite complicated...

We use Timeslips
http://www.timeslips.com/Personally its a pig, but runs great detailed reports for multiple employees, multiple clients and multiple projects. It's got the timers and all too.. Too bad its not web based (client /server). If I could find a web based product with this kinda detail, I'd jump ship in a minute.

I used to use Stopwatch and a filmaker pro app. Now I just use paper time sheets.

Doesn't "I worked till my knuckles bled" suffice as a way of saying "I worked 48 f'nig hours straight!"??

don't know if you are on a Mac or not, but if you want non-server soft ware i have been using iBiz for over a year and love it.

it has a really great integration w/ other apps and is pretty complete (ie reports, totals, overviews, ect). pretty inexpensive to for the job it performs.

I use Khronos. Not the greatest, but it gets the job done. Even makes invoices for you if you need to.

there was an ad running regularly in most of th ebigger design mags for a program... i'll have to look it up, but you could have multiple stop watches running for up to so many projects... like when you have to switch from one to the other.

I keep a notepad next to my comp. and write it down every 30min-1 hr. thatr way if they call me and its more then 20 minutes on the phone I write down 1/2 hr of client relations time.

Yeah, I use a notepad too, but I am looking for software that works well for our industry AND that people have had a positive experience with.

I use iCal on the Mac to record all my hours.
Just categorise each job with a different colour, I then record it all at the end of the day, then last hr on a friday collect all the daily records.
