the poster is aces scarabin.
and wow, a movie can make you a loser virgin? crazy.
- prodigalslacker0
i've heard it was awful
- -scarabin-0
everyone here thought the rock was kinda cheesy so we tried to make it less a "rock" movie and more a "video game" movie.
the first-person perspective poster went over really well with the studio

more comments on the film? i m going today so help me out here :-)
- prodigalslacker0

it was fabulous

so did anyone actually see the movie in this thread..wtf!? I'm interested to see the FPS view. This is indeed an interesting approach.
- prodigalslacker0
my friend saw it and said the FPS is in it for a very short period of time and the script is the most laughable POS ever.

It is an interesting approach, as audiences don't want to do any effort themselves, but instead usually want to see how the characters onscreen do things. So it's in between a video game and a film...I'm guessing the film is also going to be in the middle (mediocre, I mean), because some audience members are going to want to protest wherever the character in the film is going, and forget that they are watching a movie, not playing a game.

No way, thats not THE Boz is it?

I was all about it .... I mean if u played the game Doom 3 then u pretty much knew what to expect .. and the cheesy acting I ate that ish up ...

koolbavaria,
well, think of it not as a good movie, but a great video game movie. enjoy the FPS parts, that was a nice touch...
checkout all the doctors' names, they should mostly be the names of folks at id software. cool eh?
if you can, see it on an UltraScreen!
(www.marcustheaters.com)scarabin, you did the poster, sweet. (it is this one:
) ?i can't wait until my 1.73 pentium laptop comes, I can finally play the game. my pentium 733 just can't handle it.
spoiler alert

spoiler alert:
I like it when the Rock says: "I am not supposed to die" I thought that scene was a great twist by the screenwriter/director/whoever.

I thought The Pacifier was one of The Rocks most solid performances...oh crap that wasn't even him!
- Meeklo0
wow..
this thread makes me feel old, anyone over 12 in here?:)
- -scarabin-0
you guys are idiots if you think that doom fans are all young.
it's like the second first person shooter ever made. it defined a genre, and it was YOUR generation.
and yet you people stand around and praise halo 'n' shit, when that's the new game that has only young fans.
- -scarabin-0
i'm not saying it's a good movie though, trash that if you want.
i just think you need to get your game facts straight
- jaylarson0
Man, Clint Mansell did a hell of a job with the soundtrack. Nice remix of NIN (though I don't think Mansell did it).
This guy is great. It looks like a musical genre has been created/hopped on for the ride. Remember seeing the NIN logo all over in quake... hmmm... cool...
30 going on Zero.
