I've decided to focus on web design for a while. I know a lot of flash, html and all that and I have a graphic design background.
I need some books that will push my skills. Not technical ones, but design ones within a multimedia environment.
(its late and i'm not sure if that made sense. Someone might understand me i hope)

don't know what to say, except that most books on the subject have screenshots of semi decent sites with little or no explanation as to what was done and why

"On a final note, I found some of Zeldman's humour and jokes really not funny, maybe its me, but I got the feeling he was trying too hard, apart from this little artistic disappointment the book is really useful, I will recommend this book to any mid-level web designers!"

Get the latest communication arts interactive annual at your local bookstore now. It's got some great links, and it's only 16 bucks.

It might not be new, but is still de facto in my list - MTIV by Hillman Curtis. Great read about the conceptual approach to web design:
