better looking than any other RAW software I've ever seen

if it works as slow as iPhoto does, i will shoot myself.
and jevad- what do you mean by your comment? Photoshop looks pretty good and handles RAW format of Nikon. Or do you juts mean the interface is refreshing compared to all other apps?

Agreed! But the 'Minimum System Requirements' is totally crap!

yeah, looks real nice.
But its not a photoshop rival, Probably more of a workflow tool for photographers.
I'm betatesting a simular product but apple's gui is much nicer.

At the end of the day you still have to actually output something so it's going to throw something away at that moment... I do like that fact that it will manage and categorize one's raw files while honoring the integrity of the master Raw File. not very impressed with the tools... Levels?? Give me Curves! Dammit... I haven't touched a levels interface since Photoshop 3.0.5!! Digital shooters will definitely need to give it a go though... Ball is in Adobe's court now.

(Oct 19 05, 11:35)exactly. that means you have to buy a new machine *basically* to make it run smoothly. booness.

(Oct 19 05, 11:44)do you work for Adobe?... interested to see what they come out with and yes, NDA's do suck... god knows how many i'm under at the moment.
- JG_LB0
When will this be available?
yea, i don't use iphoto since it's kinda slow and elementary.. i have a dual proc tower with 4 gigz of ram so i dont know why it slugs along...

NDAs suck indeed, but speculation my lads is great..
apple is currently doing to gimp as what it did with konqueror
;o)

Disclose... I promise I won't tell... ;)
What can it hurt other than your career and possible future employment...
However If Y'all have any Pull with the Photoshop CS Build team give them hell for changing the way layers are linked and the way layer clipping masks are applied that hover with the cursor between the two layers while holding down option is tedious... Granted... Command G makes more sense as far as grouping layers and being able to multiple select contiguous layers is cool... I think the photoshop team should be tackling the great issues of our time... Embedding Fonts... I am tired of receiving Collect for output files and some knucklehead has forgotten the fonts he/she used in the layered file..
end of rant...
sorry been a rough week.
umm
capture looks kewl..
except for levels...

while i am at it... could you make smart objects truly vector... i mean you guys are halfway there.. I pasted a vector logo from illustrator CS2 into Photoshop CS2 as a smart object I am able to scale it over and over in photoshop but when your done scaling photoshop is still treating it as a raster layer... To double check i saved out a photoshop eps with the smart layer and a vector shape mask layer and opened the photoshop eps in illustrator... illustrator parsed the eps honored the vector mask as a clipping image but the smart object was flattened to the image... I'll try importing a layered psd with just an image and a a smart object layer but i have the feeling the result will be the same... I am just saying rescaling over and over in photoshop is kinda kewl but if you can't truly use the vector capabilities of the logo i might as well save out an illustrator eps and use indesign or quark to marry my ct and logo together and forgo the smart object pain alltogether...
