I've got a navigational bar written in javascript...basically when you hover over a parent navigational element, a menu of child navigational elements will appear...but that menu is overlapped by the HTML select menus on the page...anyone know of a way around this?
and woe to thee, the first person who tells me to search google!

i have a huge feeling i'm misunderstanding something here...but can you define the position of different menus using css?

nah...that's not really the problem...HTML select menus(it's weird, because it's just select menus that do this) overlap javascript drop down menus...and i'm wondering if there's a way around that...

yes, forms often push themselves to the to of the z-index.
one thing to try, is to make sure that your menu is lower in the code than your select menus.also, there is some software that will help, like milonic.

is there anything i can set the z-index to to make it...work? i heard that if you set it to a negitive number, it will appear infront of the select menu...

you can't overlap input items (esp on a mac-safari) -
one solution would be to hide all the items under it and then turn them back on when you roll out?
