(Sep 27 05, 15:16)i do. i reboot at least 2wice a week. the pc security shit they dump on here literally makes the computer boot for 5 minutes 26 seconds. i timed it once. then i boot up the g5 behind me (that we can only use to test) and it is ready to use in under a minute. same security shit as the pc.

i know i will prolly get a lot of crap for this, but i have a hard time taking designers on pcs seriously. mostly because all the local "designers" i know that use pcs think they are awesome because they know frontpage.
i know it is great for 3d and gaming, but i just don't get graphic design on a pc. the whole industry is mac driven...plus they look sweet.
also..it is hard for me to see a non-flash site and get all excited by the design. i find them boring.
note: when it comes to portfolio sites...i don't give a damn if it isn't flash...i just look at the work. then i drool.
don't kill me..i just don't get it.

Pc's are just fine for Design. in fact they run Flash better than any Mac on the market. Plus if your designing a website, dont you want to develope it on the platform that 98% of the users are going to have?
I happen to have a g5 and a dual Zeon Dell at my desk and switch depending on what the creative is.
And BTW for those of you that are forced to use a PC and are comfortable with MAC. you CAN use the apple Pro keyboard with your PC. That way you dont get your key-combos messed up. I have an older BlackKeys i use on my PC at home. the new apple keybords are of course proprietary and they made a little tooth in the USB slot that prevents you from using them on a PC. so find yourself an older applePro and go to town.

I use a pc, Big Spaceship uses PCs alot nowadays , The WDDG uses PCs, and 2 Advanced is all PC. If I recall Kioken used them a lot too. I love developing Flash on a PC. It is waaaaaaaaay better to do it on a PC. Plus if you decide to play around with a little 3D then PC is certainly the best way to go. I will admit it gets a little weird sometimes bc so many other places use a mac, but honestly I dont understand why. Especially with web stuff.
Video and broadcast is an entirely different monster tho as most of those studios are definitley all mac. So who knows. I might end up on a mac someday.
