okay, so i send some files along with all of the source material and fonts and everything to this programmer to have him lay it out in html [it's a newsletter.]
this is what i sent him :
and this is what i get back :
wtf!!!
am i being unreasonable? what i sent him was not that difficult. is there any reason he has to make it look like poop!

:)

the designer should use css
- Garus0
Thats why he's a programmer.
How long have you been in a working relationship with this guy?Maybe he forgot to include the CSS style sheet with the files he sent you. I don't really know but it does look bad.

...................................html emails are poop. there are so many different clients all setup to read the html differently. keeping it simple means you keep continuity. although thats not to say its impossible to sort out yr original design

he spells fonts with a PH, and spelled thanks wrong. i wouldn't pay dude a dollar.
- jevad0
did he do it with frontpage?
- anzelina0
yeah the scary thing is they guy who wrote 'phonts' was my boss who forwarded me the other guy's email.
we just started using him. my boss thinks it looks good! he said "he did it in an hour and a half, he's great!"
i'm like UGHGHGHGHGHGHGH

Was just about to say the same thing. I mean, the "thasnk" could be considered a typo, but "phonts"? That's just poor, uneducated grammar. SYNTAX ERROR!

undo i know that html emails are poop.
try as i may i cannot convince my boss to not use them.
i keep telling him to send out a straight text teaser and have a link to a real newsletter online. he won't listen because our head of sales told him we should use an html email.
bullocks!

why not just have one large image and set the alt value to be the unformatted copy
- anzelina0
"cause no one will load the image"
- orangemorning0
totally freakin typical. We work with some of those. They will tell me how it's impossible to do stuff. So I like to send them links and tell them it's not and to figure it out.
- jevad0
an hour and a half to do that?!
- mikotondria20
I think its great.
I think it 'pops', and degrades gracefully in Netscape 4 on a Mac, like my kid nephew (who does webdesigndering with Flashing) said it should do.
He suggested using Impact font, as it has the most 'impact', and will smash the sales talk into them like a binary hammer.
Bang.
Also, he suggested doing a referral pyramid links and traffic exchange, where we can get 100 million hits a second, guranteed, and become 2 advanced, like they do in Japan.

not sure whats worse. what he sent back or that he took an hour and a half to build that...
