Given the international complement of participants in the NT Blackbook (Vol 1), I think the charity should be just as global:
www.doctorswithoutborders.org
www.unicef.org
www.one.org
www.worldwildlife.org
www.futureforests.comThat last one is rather fitting considering 1) the paper we'll be using and 2) all the transportation involved.

I'm not big on non-profs. Rather let's find some family in Africa and send it directly to them. We get them to take pictures and send it back. An NT supported family. How 'bout that one?
Actually, I'm going back too, September 17th till 28th.
I don't trust those 90% admin groups. BS

i'm on the board of directors for a non profit organization that gives art supplies to underpriveledged children in elementary school.
it's a newly formed chapter of a much larger organization that started preliminary formation about a month or so ago. by the time the book is ready to be autioned it will be fully live and i'll show you guys more info for consideration.
i think it's a fantastic cause much in line with what we are doing. spreading art.

i think there are plenty of worthy charities, but i think that since what we are doing will have one theme (art), and currently art is the first thing to go in public education, something along those lines would be nice.
however, since it is an international endeavour, the needs of all countries should be met, so redcross would be just as good.

Someone in the other Vol1 thread mentioned the victims of Katrina. By the time the book is done Katrina will be forgotten. And come on, it's the US, their problem is temporary compared to others.

The Katrina hurricane will never be forgotten and attitudes like it's the U.S.'s problem and no one else's is the reason the world is ***** up right now. I say the people involved vote. Then it's fair.
p.s. I live in Florida and people are still homeless from the hurricanes last year.
