hi all.
anyone here ever lost their home in a hurricane or some other natural disaster? I'm currently in atlanta with my mom and sis in a hotel. we are all from new orleans but i live in philly and i met them here on sunday night. Their home is completely submerged in water and they have lost everything...
house deed, insurance papers etc...any suggestions from anyone who lost their home to a fire or the like would be helpful.

i lost an apartment i was renting in los angeles during one of the earthquakes, the building was cracked in so amny places that the structural integrity was almost gone, everyone had managed to get out, but the after shocks caused the roof, and a main corner portion of the building to collapse. we lost everything we had.
