saddle stitching is the cheapest bet..
i used to do a graffiti magazine and for 2000 copies it was running us about 4000-5000 including delivery for a 24 page, 4 to 4 bleed, 4 color, saddle stitched book... shit ain't cheep

it's up to you guys
here's an idea though:
when we scan them for the gallery, a downloadable pdf is made and anyone who wants to can print it out and bind it themselves...
keeps it simple and you can have it bound any way you want
- scarabin0
this would also eliminate all expenses
- MLP0
pdf is a good call

i agree with mango and k77... its a blackbook project... supposed to be about making and sharing art, not a book for reproduction.
- scarabin0
yeah, it's not gonna be groundbreaking work anyway, just a buncha people fucking around and having fun
- horton0
yup the pdf idea is perfect.

who knows what it could lead to? Let's start with this, do the auction/ charrity thing, then that will jsut be the start of volumes to come!

you said it scarabin

If it's a PDF you could publish it through Lulu when complete. Could be cool - interested parties could purchase it. Just a thought.
- MLP0
i just love having a record of stuff like this... so the PDF would even suffice... going offset is definitely too costly

update on the locations thing:
i've been compiling a list and most so far are in the US / Canada and not really worth trying to navigate a route.
the one edit to our list might be around #20/ 25, send the book overseas for a single round in Europe/ Australia/ Asia.. and then back to North America to complete the last pages.

what's lulu?
- Duane0
Free self-publishing.
- k770
well, i think most of the europeans were gone home when the sign up happened. conceivably we could wait until tomorrow for the stragglers?
- scarabin0
do you want to join, testpilot?
- Duane0
I'm down scarabin...just kind of watching to see what unfolds and what kind of time frame is involved. I think that it's a great idea.
