I just finished this photographer site and would love to hear what you all think about it.

nice

I like the navigation, design, and more importantly the babe.

Very nice.
But i'm not sure about the font (maybe something lighter, but is just a littleness)

overall, A +.
only thing I didnt like was the bouncy, shaky moves in the content.
given the overall smoooveness factor of the site, I would make those moves more smooove.
otherwise, fucking spot-on!
nice work :->

I like what I'm hearing. :)
I had a hard time finding a good font and sort of had to settle for that one.

i like it, but what about using flash fonts? the texts are a bit blur on my computer
- anzelina0
somehow it bothers me that i have to wait for each image to load.
maybe do some sort of preload thing
- logan0
I know. I couldn't find one that I liked that had all of the characters that I needed. Originally I was going to use Verdana 10pt aliased but when I embedded the font it made these shitty spaces after every 'w'. I need the text to be embedded so that I could mask them... So I ended up settling with 11pt Arial anti-aliased and I know that it's kind of blurry.
Do you have any good ideas of pixel fonts that would work any better?
- logan0
hmm. The site is all driven by a database. Each photo is called up separately which is why I loaded each one separately. I guess I could do some sort of loading thing where I park the photos and load them in back to back so that they are ready when the user clicks on them. That's a great suggestion. Thanks.

Here we're using minml.
It's a very good font and i found it useful working with external texts.
But is quite small (you can use it in multiple of 8, so the body sizes allowed are 8, 16, 24 and so on)
and needs to be snapped exactly to pixels.few examples: http://www.tube.it
and http://www.elmi.it

about preloading you can use the MovieClipLoader Class.
- logan0
I'm already using the MovieClipLoader Class to load the images. I guess my question is how can I preload a whole category of photos at once? There is a search feature which allows you to search for photos by keyword etc. Any ideas how to use MCL to load up a group of photos?

there are some nice pixel fonts at -
http://www.fontsforflash.com/and
http://www.dafont.com/en/bitmap.…
there are plenty more out there, i've got the links bookmarked at home

I think it's pretty good but for a photography site I think it takes too many clicks to get to the photos and the photos should be larger.
It might be tough in this case but removing the sub sections would help.
I also think there are too many things that distract you from the photos. Maybe try fading out the background while you're looking at the photos.

wow. dafont has a lot of good stuff. Thanks!
Thanks for all of you feedback. Anyone else?

most of it I like very much, few things:
The brackets around the nav arrows and such are extraneous and could be toned down, maybe a lighter gray so they don't compete.
image size is too small esp. after seeing the first image full frame, a little disapointing.

(Aug 29 05, 11:48)"Are you saying that the extra large image that you see from clicking on the [+] button is too small? Those are 600 pixels at their largest dimension.
How much larger would you go? I was trying to stay inside an 800 x 600 space.
Thanks for the comments!
