1. Sony isn't a good brand. They are whore of the electronics business and can't just sit down and focus on making one, solid, good product.
2. The designer didn't "fuck" them, because I'm 100% certain that they had to approve of this.
3. It seems more to me that they aren't *really* trying to get this product to sell using sex, but seems more like they are playing off and making fun of the fact that everyone else does it.

they do seem to be cheapening their brand. their design division looks like it has tanked.

(Aug 27 05, 13:57)they dont have ONE product, they have many. if you cared to walk into a linear/non-linear editing suite or anything broadcast, i doubt you would see any other brand. and thats not because they are sony, but because they make some damn tight product.
perhaps your gripe is with their consumer product division and related marketing.

some of you guys think this is "ok" ? i agree with uberdesigner... this "image" really cheapening their brand.... this look like a cheesy CK ads in the 90s...

Whoever designed that should know that my biggest turn on is stomachs so now I have like 14 walkmans.

holy....ya, looks ok, but definately sketchy in the 'sex sells' department

Um, you realize brands represent products/makers of products, and in turn reflect the quality of said products, right setsolid? It's not a 1 way street.

I like the site. It's not perfect. There are times when substance loses out to style. But I think it's an effective site.

(Aug 27 05, 16:44)All i am saying is a good brand does not alway mean good product... and poor brand does not mean bad product. the brand represent many things about a company... its not just about product and service. A brand is the feeling and image the buyer think about the company... what doe a mp3 player is to you and what is the brand SONY to you... is very different thing.

(Aug 27 05, 16:44)so to anser your statement... No, the brand is more then just representation of product or quality of products.
- fate_0
My original statement was not to convince you it's only about the products. Quit thinking in absolutes.
I repeat, It's not a 1 way street.
- setsolid0
never think of it as one way street, and i never think in absolute. i only reply to what u say as statement. perhabs you the one that is thinking oneway street... but just the wrong way.
