i am sitting on one right now. we are moving to a new office and getting all new furnature and i got the illustrious position of new chair tester.
its pretty confortable. i only have one complaint, the arm rests can raise and lower as well as rotate, the up and down feature works fine but the rotate lock does not hold very well. so when ever you get up or sit down the arm rest shit a bit.
but as far as ass and back go its golden.

Use an aeron, no complaints.

i am sitting on the shittiest swivel chair ever, the back rest has literally no cushion in it, it has lost its locking mechanism so its constant stuck in the backwards position, there are no armrests, and as you sit on it it slowly lowers itself over time...

hahaha ethios, thats what my old chair was like then it completely fell appart while i was sitting on it, busting my ass in the process. luckly that happened the same day some one needed to test the new chair thus i was elected.

my OLD chair was even worse than this one, that one did fall apart and it bloody hurt!
*raises chair again*

I'm on a shitty chair at the moment and it's giving me chronic back pain.
Need a new one asap. I'd rather spend money on a chair than some overpriced back quack.

Ive got a mirra at home and an aeron at work, the only complaint on the mirra is the lower back surpport doesn't stay locked in place. it loosens over time. That said, it does cradle my back more comfortably then the aeron slidey thingy. Maybe I need to tighten something.
all in all the mirra design is more recent so maybe more advanced.

you're lucky kyl3...
any tips for getting a good deal?
i don't want to buy off ebay or some shady character under the arches.

It was more of a longterm health issue that made me buy the mirra for home. I was doing 10 hour days freelancing with a 70's era hermann miller chair that I got at a salvage yard and needed to change that.
I got mine at the ultimate back store and it was 50 buck less than retail, or you can look for used aerons on craigslist.org
