can somebody point me to a timeline of how the jews lost their land, were given land and all that. I'm pretty ignorant on the subject and would like to better understand what is going on over there

ok after WWII the Allies felt really bad so to placate the Jews they decided to give them their "promised land." right smack dab in the middle of those arab countries. this of course d not make egypt, palestine and the other countries happy so they all ganged up on israel. around 1967 i think. This was cxalled the Yom Kippur war. now with helkp from america and russia and great commando skillz the small band of israelis won the war. a marvelous victory since they were fighting basically the entitre middle east. this is how they got the west bank and gaza from palestine.

of course ill be the only person to discuss israel as evefryone in the world hates to.

Thanks for the info. I have been hearing about this for a long time now, but I've never bothered to get the background information on it. Even though I'm quite up-to-date with news.

they say the Romans expelled Jews in the first century AD from the land known as Judae. Which is not strictly true. After a Jewish uprising the Romans destroyed the Temple of Solomon and expelled Jews from Jersualem. However this ban was lifted when the Persians took over Jersualem after the decline of the Holy Roman Empire. Jewish people have, in fact, continously been present in that region (from north africa deep into central asia, including the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem) for the latst 2005 years (and more!). The loss of "homeland" is kind of a Zionist myth used to re-establish the Kingdom of Solomon.

Yes, the Egyptian HATE the Jews. Not because they aer Jewish persay, but because they got that land. I visited there and asked them about it. They still aren't happy. And I'm talking about Coptic Egyptians too.

just heeard on npr that the settlers get 10 days in a hotel on the govt. then they're on their own. what a mess. You'd think they would have built some houses for them before hand.
- JazX0
bum deal, it's not the little kids' fault that they were put there. sucks for them
- Dancer0
......and now the palestinians want their land back, but the Isrealies believe it was an "act of god" in '67, therefore they should keep it.... very messy
- Goozebump0
i actually have no sympathy i mean have u guys seeen how the palestionas 1million of them a regulated like a zoo in a small area. the maj. of these ppl are decent except for the few extremist. is any1 worried about the other houndred of thousands who are not suicide bombers, jsut kids or ppl trying to live? Israel jsutifies it as security when a tank drives down a street blows up an apt complex to kill 1 palestioan guy displacing 10 families.

Hi Kuz. How is/was Afganistan
- Dancer0
Aparently whilst these few settlers are getting kicked out another 30 homes are being built further down the bank. It's all for show

30=30,000

a mess it is and one that will not be resolved anytime soon.
My limited understanding is that the settlements were never formally approved and that this has contributed to the ill feeling.
The more radical Palestinian voices asy that Israel should not exist and in turn the more radical Israeli voices say that the Palestinians have no right to be there.
The less radical Palestinians and Israelis meantime need to deal with the fallout, poor bastards.
