Anybody live there - or know somebody who does?

if it's anywhere as good as the pepridge farm cookies it must be like heaven.
- soda0
not anymore but I used too.
Great part of town.

with a median income of over 85k US, not a lot of designers live on that side of the bridge.
- soda0
oh yeah, it's not cheap...
- unclesize0
Yes I have a friend still living there, and my parents lived there when I was a small child.

You used to live there soda? Could you give me a general feeling for the vibe and town?

when i lived in SF, the only thing you need to k ow about sausalito is the ferry to Tiburon and that cafe that does the best fish and chips ever...
hang on a minute, the bike ride from the golden gate down into sausilto is the best ever, one time [riding bikes no where near band camp] my wife took over me on the road there...
obviously i let her....
it was then her round :P

I used to work there, pretty cool spot, people that live there are very into themselves, rich folk and all.

Driving around town sucks tho (although you will see many ferraris, bentleys and jaguars), and the food's amazing but expensive-cause of the rich folk

It also gets choked with touristas on the weekends. Really only one road in and its bumper to bumper. That part of Marin County used to be very chill, but lately the big money has moved in and the chill factor has moved out. so sad.. that's one reason I left the bay area.

With the exception of Oaktown,
palin. still have many design buds there. cheers to the east bay!

Part tourist destination, part snobs and part cool area.
http://www.bssp.com is there and they do some decent work. I freelance for them now and then.
Its beautiful and close to many great hiking and biking areas. There's some affordable apts. but housing prices are some of the highest in the country with tiburon across the water.

funny thing about sausalito is that the main strip of stores/restaurants are catered purely towards tourists.. everything is overly expensive and of somewhat poor taste... but then about a block away, there is the street where all the locals eat and shop, and it's all really good.

-tru dat.

but if your on a bicycle you get so much speed up, you just sail straight on thru it!!!!!!
- kld0
Lots of house boats with some old timey bohemians living on them.
- nick0

there's a deli turkey by boar's head called 'salsalito'. it's smothered in salsa and is supposedly infused with yummy flavors.
