we've been asked (for good or ill) to investigate the possibility of building a client area in our intranet.
apparently some of our competitors do this so that clients can check proofs, review timetables, etc.
any of you do this? anyone have any examples?
many thanks,

That what I think. I rather email the fucking things........ However. I think I really have to build it this time...

ours is basicly a forum style thing, where you post a visual, and give your clients the op to post comments and discuss it. The same thing for support queries would also be handy...
I don't see any need for it to be more complicated than that - anything beyond that scope and you'd surely want to talk about it on't phone really...
- kelpie0
annoyingly ours doesn't give you the ability to re-post visuals in the same thread, which is supremely illogical cos you have to create a new thread for each set of revisions, Daft, eh?
- paraselene0
in what format do you post your visuals? or are they all web stuff? i reckon we'll have to put pdfs.
the support queries could compile themselves into a sort of dynamic faq, i imagine. which might be nice.

g'wan, send us a wee screenshot. you know you want to.
- kelpie0
cool, gimme a minute - we can upload anything, but jpgs and gifs disply in the interface, whereas anything else downloads (it's a pretty basic system).
- kelpie0
er, sorry our site a bit fucked at the mo, so I can't send a screengrab :(

We have a Media Viewing System (or as we affectionately call it the MVS) which is just a simple htaccess protected html page for each job with lists of media / emails / website visuals etc. Each with version numbers, dates and wether it has been approved etc..
I'll email moth a screenshot in a second.
