it's like putting a Lada engine in your Ferrari Modena..
i mean, it's awfully slow and what's the point?

The best part about VPC is when you use CMD + W to close a window inside VPC and instead it saves your virtual PC's state and closes the whole damn thing which takes like 10 minutes to restart and get back to where you were.

You can get an emachine or something for not much more than the price of virtual pc.

it can be useful.. we used to run the demo version of Rhino3D on Virtual PC...the demo would only launch 25 times...but of course you never quit Rhino, you'd just save the PC state and resume later...worked fine for months..
of course we could have just found a cracked copy of Rhino...

how much is virtual pc, because you could buy a pretty decent machine for under £200

i use it regularly to teach others how to use programs, never had any problems with it. it also has to do with the internet speed connection you have.

the main point is you can take it with you... on your laptop. Try carrying around a PC tower.
Remember the other option... use Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection client to run a remote session on a real PC box located at home or something.. then you can connect over wi-fi on the road and run at real PC speeds... screen redraw is a touch slow though depending on your connection...
