Best thing to experience in New York is New York.
Walk, wander, get lost... if you have a specific gallery or museum you want to see, make sure you'll run into it during some urban hiking.
find a good restaurant... then a good bar. then another good bar... then another... repeat until they stop serving. wake up, repeat.

you could check out zakka in chinatown/soho... if you are into the vinyl toy scene there are a couple cool stores to check out: kitrobot and toy tokyo.
museums are cool also if you are into that... the MoMA just reopened over the winter and is really nice. it's free on fridays from 4-8pm (at least it used to be, might want to check) so that's a good deal if you don't mind a little crowd.
other than that, hang around the east/west village and have some beer and good food.

what would be the best place to find accomodation? I will give google a go, though.

it seems great to me... especially if you're in the area. but it doesn't seem like people are too excited about it.
I don't understand.

it all depends on how much you can spend...
what is semi permanent... ? ? ? ???
- eficks0
i guess i dont have too much to spend on accommodation, probably max about $1k for a week or 2. would prefer less though.

turntable lab is good, but their storefront just doesn't cut it compared to their website.. its definitely worth a stop though.

I don't think Semi-Permanent looks that great or interesting this time. Am I alone?
