Hello nice people...
Can you help me choose a printer?
I have been sold an Epson R1800 which I personally think is rubbish.
The colours are really bad.
Can you advise which would be a good investment as this other printer is getting sent back.
The R1800 has 7 ink cartridges which is good for cost effectiveness whereas the 1290 has 2 cartdrides (1 black and a CMY ) which I feel may be more costly but at the end of the day I know the prints are MEGA.
Please please try and advise
Ta
Karlo

Can't advise you on the print quality.
But having seperate colour cartridges certainly makes a difference economically. Especially if you are printing a lot of graphic work that uses the simliar colours often,

I am surprised that the R1800 is shit. It's Epson's most modern printer, and I have read the coour is good. Are you sure you've got the print settings correct?
Anyway the Canon 9900i is meant to be as good but a bit more pricey.
Let me know the out come as I am about to buy an R1800.

ive just ordered a HP Deskjet 6540 - id usually got for epson prnters but on reading the reviews it seems that newer models arent as good (or long living) as they used to be and the HP does edge to edge and loads of other stuff i quite like the sound of...tho its not quick which isnt an issue for me

I have done SO MANY tests on the R1800 and personally I think it is rubbish. I think it is more of a 'photo' printer than a DTP printer. In the office there are some 1290s and the colours are AMAZING.
I really cant think of anything else to do - I feel I have bought the wrong printer :(
Its a pity I cant show you the results

Or perhaps spend a little more on the 2100:
