you can't really model in 3d, but you can work in 3d space. make a 3d layer and experiment yourself...
clerk
(Aug 10 05, 06:09you can model basic 3d shapes using a plug in called '3d invigorator'.
You make a keyfram by clicking on the little stopwatch icon next to where it says position/rotation ect in the layer.

don't use ae to make your 3d shizzle. if you're used to doing that in swift then just export it from swift and import it into your ae comp.
ae is for motion graphics.
- Bullitt0
okay Ta, got issues with swift at the moment - not giving me an option to export as a movie clip.

EVERYTHING... YOU CAN IMAGINE OFF!
- vespa0
weeeell even tho i said everything i meant everything motion graphics wise.
it can't make a cup of tea.
but if you'd already made a cup of tea then ae could make it steam and morph into a ninja.

Bump!- Nice. And +1 for decade bumping.CyBrainX

- yeah it's cool, just wish it was part of AE. for the price you pay for AE - and considering the lack of new features added.shapesalad
- Moho has some physics stuff integrated. nothing too fancy but enough for most cases. no additional costs...shapesalad
- There are so many good plug-ins for AE though, if they were all included we’d be whingeing about bloated software...MrT

- Having faffed about with globes a few times recently, this is good.MrT
- How can this be free? Looks amazing!Projectile

If I have a TV with resolution of 3840 x 2160.
Do I really need to work on composition at that size when producing an animation in After Effects? Is it safe to work at 1080? I feel the output would be massive otherwise!- not massive, just 4x.uan
- Your video will look as good as it would on a comparable HD TV. Depending on the size of your screen and distance from it you might not even notice.CyBrainX
- You could work with lores proxies so your machine doesn't choke and go 4k for your final output.zarkonite
- I just made gfx for a 4K (same res) series for Facebook Watch. It was fine, just took a bit longer to render : )MrT

Some nice new features

- That's me on the right but I don't see a need to precomp the fractal noise.CyBrainX

Can anyone share some AE kickassery inspiration you like? Textural / paper textures / collage animation preferred.
Thanks!

Seems that plugin posted the other day was a project file already. Will be interesting to see what new additions there are in the new version. Either way it will cut out a lot of tedious keyframing.
-- This plugin seems to be similar but with vector strokes only
https://www.youtube.…PhanLo - the maths behind such a procedural effect are not to complex, surprised there's not more effects being created in todays age of AI.shapesalad
- LOVE thisfyoucher1
- Yep Fyoucher, looks a fun one. I'll have a shot over the weekend with it see how it works.PhanLo
- @shapesalad it's a shame there isn't more stuff like that in AE. I always find any generative effects hammer the processor so live previewing takes ages.PhanLo

I'm having some color management problems and wondering if anyone's had the same issues. I have a standard blue RGB value that I use for most of my AE work (brand guidelines). In AE, when I enter RGB values, the shade of blue is way off. So I go into my File > Project Settings > Color to check the Working Space. I don't even have the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 option in the drop down, I also do not have the "none" option. It's set to Rec709 Gamma 2.4 and I'm not sure that's right.
This all assuming that sRGB option is the best for my work based on other internet dead end searches. Anyone know how to restore my color option drop down menu so all choices become available? Or any other ideas? Thanks in advance all.- I was just able to access the sRGB and None options in my drop down but colors are still way off.stoplying
- 32bits, sRGb, no to linerarize, blend colours using 1.0 gamma = no problemos.shapesalad
- Well that's been my go to setting. But thinks still mess up....shapesalad
- Holy Shit - I found it. I reset my preferences with the old command option shift restart and I'm back in action. WOO FUCKING HOO!stoplying

- trapcode is the only thing I like with AE, did a few experiments linked with sound, they were meh but trapcode is amazing as a sound vizualizergrafician
- after seeing this I was hooked for a while: https://www.youtube.…grafician
- Yeah that video was the same for me I got hooked on creating abstract audio visuals using particular around that same time.Ramanisky2
- Just wish the processor could handle it a bit better. Seems they borrowed some parts from StardustPhanLo
- Anyone seen what the upgrade price is? Nowt on the site that I can find. It's a trap.MrT

my early days of experimenting with Trapcode Suite and Particular v1
Grafican here’s one I did back 2009 ..
I even got a sweet comment from Peder Norrby who was the original creator of Particular and all things TrapcodeLooking at it now, 11 years later .. It’s really not that great, especially in matching the sound.
- grafician1
^looks very good indeed!
but we both had problems matching the sound it seems...yeah, cheers to experimenting!
here's one of mine, sound matched to the engine of a BMW Z4 car...

- @Rama funny 11 years ago we both were experimenting with trapcodegrafician
- from what I remember, I rendered this on a Core 2 duo MBPro overnight lolgrafician
