-Is your screen calibrated?
-Before printing, did you convert to the Profile for your specific paper?
-Did you remember to turn off printer-based color management?
-Did you print on epson paper?
I got the R2400 and the prints are unbeleivable, the colors are dead on. I heard the R1800 is very good as well.

Oh and by the way, its not a postcript-enabled out of the box, so you should not be printing from Indesign or Illustrator in the first place, unless you have this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/…

all of those oversize printers need to be calibrated right between screen colors, paper type (which in turn adjusts the ink flow + coverage) + rip settings.
at the printer i worked at last summer we used that printer for press proofs, so the color definitely comes out dead-on. we were printing through a citex rip and then a bestrip processor for the imposition on the final sheet.
