fear is unhealthy - and therefor is no reason why any of us should be afraid of anything. the fact is, the world hasen't become a madhouse,it's just the mediacoverage and the claw of some goverments who provide it to keep us small and sluggish instead of creating a better world.
my opinion.

Fear is not unhealthy, just depends on what you base it on.
any animal needs a certain amount of fear to survive. except whales maybe.

it was well shown on The Daily Show, how the american coverage of London fast turned into assumptions of how likely it was to happen in the US untill they reached the conclusion that it was inevitable and then showing how badly trains were checked for bombs.
fear is a magnet, media abuses it.

It's the media...

how come everyting suddenly becomes an issue of the government/media scaring civilians...
four kids, some teenagers were able to come into London and kill over 50 people... that is a fact, and a bit of a wake up call, I don't think the media is fuelling fear... more like awareness.

(Jul 13 05, 02:14)the twisted, horrible kind that we suffer as a result of living in a simulacra and being incapable of recognising ourselves when we look into mirrors. the kind that would be too terrible if we called it what it was, so instead we have to throw battery acid at people who we suspect of being happier than we are.

not to forget that 80 yrs ago, the only news people heard was of things happening in the villages/cities around them.

Fear no more the heat o' the sun;
Nor the furious winter's rages,
Thou thy worldly task hast done,
Home art gone, and ta'en thy wages;
Golden lads and girls all must,
As chimney sweepers come to dust.Fear no more the frown of the great,
Thou art past the tyrant's stroke:
Care no more to clothe and eat;
To thee the reed is as the oak:
The sceptre, learning, physic, must
All follow this, and come to dust.Fear no more the lightning-flash,
Nor the all-dread thunder-stone;
Fear not slander, censure rash;
Thou hast finished joy and moan;
All lovers young, all lovers must
Consign to thee, and come to dust.No exorciser harm thee!
Nor no witchcraft charm thee!
Ghost unlaid forbear thee!
Nothing ill come near thee!
Quiet consummation have;
And renowned be thy grave!
