I my self do feel there are something more than science can explain (maybe yet). I think that there's this energy on earth in life that's all connected. However I have no evidence or any facts to back it up thus I will not treat it as a fact, merely a gut feeling and thought. nor will i go out there and preach it as it is real that everybody should believe.
if all it require is faith for religion to be a real thing. than anything can be a religion. As long as you have enough people who has faith in it.
Doesn't that make religion less credible and something to be taken lightly?Well i'm not really here to stop anyone doing whatever they do. i'm just here to exchange thought with everyone. Hoping people with different ideas can explain their believes in a way that I can understand. Making sense of something that doesn't make sense to me.
- very well thought out, thank you... just because enough people believe myths doesn't make them true, or more true than anothermonospaced

If God planned to destroy the universe all along, then why did he create it in the first place? Seems like a big waste of time.

It's a bit long but worth it. Different way of looking at religion(s).

Ok. It's actually more like 6 - 2 to the religionists.
- all illusion is religion... even the illusion of science. even though its a method most of you believe in false science any whoyurimon
- say wut?moldero
- what in the actual fuck are you talking about?scarabin
- science is just figuring shit out instead of accepting things on blind faith. there's nothing false about it. it's the only reasonable course of action for understanding the universe.scarabin
- course of action for understanding the universe. there's no "illusion" involved. you either accept outdated ridiculous bullshit thousands of years old against all logic and reason or you use your human abilities of observation and logic and wake yourself up.scarabin

"I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
...Stephen F Roberts- lets substitute One form of ignorance for another.yurimon
- Every Christian/Catholic/w... is an atheist in that they reject the other 2000+ deities, yurimon.monospaced
- A real atheist just removes the last one, just one fewer than bible thumping fanatics. It's not ignorance, it's freedom.monospaced
- Take your religion an shove it lol.
yurimon - Like I said its still another form of ignorance. your religion.yurimon
- atheism is a religion like "off" is a channel on TVmonospaced
- ergo, atheism can't be confused with religion, it's the exact opposite, it has NO belief systemmonospaced
- So how is your organized system of belief and world view not a religion. that you is bound to believeyurimon
- Not the word "Belief" and organized.yurimon
- It's organized by the laws of nature, universe and logic. That requires no faith, just understanding.monospaced

In Iceland, people used to believe in gnomes in the past. Some old people still believe in those over there. But now people know there's no such thing as gnomes in the wild. People evolved.
Same exact thing with all the Gods and other religions. One day, in many many years, people will say "a long time ago, people were believing in some sort of Gods" and people will find it funny.
The problem is the religion stick to humanity because parents keep brainwashing their kids and those kids brainwash their own kids later. We,re stuck in a wheel.
- Well that's not true. The "gods" literally used to walk the earth.set
- It makes no sense to believe people of ancient cultures all over the globe came up with the same stories about the same godsset
- the same gods, and wrote these stories on their most important temples.set
- to think it's all just fiction and coincidence is incredibly dense.set
- lol, watching too much Promethius eh?fyoucher1
- No Gods have ever existed.benfal99
- Icelanders still believe in elves and will change the direction of roads to avoid disturbing "elf homes".i_monk
- Gnomes cult didn't mix with politics.ApeRobot
- Most folks back in the day weren't very smart in comparison to today either.fyoucher1
- No. They were smart, smarter than us. They just didn't have the knowledge of the world that we do.Morning_star
- It must be nice living in a reality where you think you know everythingset
- That makes a ton of sensefyoucher1
- There are a ton of reasons why that phenomena occurred set, and I know you're smart enough to understand thatmonospaced
- People came up with these ideas and inspirations and shared them, and the knowledge did spread over timemonospaced
- It was interpreted widely and many large natural events helped spur the belief in themmonospaced
- major upheavals caused people to further ponder the meanings and bolster the stories furthermonospaced
- haha okset
- thats why we're still stuck with religious beliefs. Because of thinking like set do. no offence set.benfal99
- HAHAset
- wowset

- You're to blame Set?. *grabs pitch fork and burning torch*Morning_star
- The Irish believe in Leprechauns. They'll build roads around the little fellas...goldieboy
- Anyways,...
Gods= Kings/Leaders/Wise men of the past.goldieboy - The gnomes are different energies related to the earth. people didnt just believe it. it was energy phenomena related to nature.yurimon
- nature. It was experienced in nature like elementals. you spend a lifetime living in a forest n get back to me. You can literally see the subtleties of nature and haveyurimon
- literally see the subtleties of nature and have relationship with it. you can tell its going to rain. if tomorrow is hot or cold etc.yurimon
- with time as everything became industrialized n away from nature it became silly to a city/towns peopleyurimon
- yuri has a point about the nature thinginteliboy
- though they actually, literally, believed in gnomes and elves and whatnot.inteliboy
- And how do you know they don't exist? Yurimon speaks the truth as he often does..set
- Our senses pick up 0.0000001% of the electromagnetic spectrum.set
- And you're certain they don't exist cos you haven't seen one. Tiresome attitude.set

A List Of Gods Throughout History
Throughout history human beings have believed in gods—thousands of them. And just as past cultures—many great and lasting civilizations—have all but slipped from our memory, so have the gods they worshiped.
While today's dominant religions fixate on (and wage wars over) a few prominent deities, we would be wise to remember that billions of people from past centuries believed in—and devoted their lives to—entirely different gods.
- and, ad, they were all adamant that their god(s) was the right one... think about thatmonospaced
