xp is a lot better at having the drivers than older versions of windows. bite the bullet and re-format that beast.

you could re-install xp first. it should install drivers for most of your critical hardware. then check which hardware you need drivers for and download them.

You have to open your case, and look at your actual motherboard I believe

Thanks guys, the root of the problem is that Im not sure which model is my motherboard, ethernet card, etc. Is there a way to find out in XP? I only have info about the graphic card. And again, thanks for the help.

Dl the drivers first, without them, half of the stuff on your computer won't work!

Who cares, there are probably updated drivers online anyways. I don't use any of my discs, so it is not a bad situation at all.

if you have close access to another pc to download the drivers you can go that route, but it will be a much great pain in the ass without those discs.
i do not envy you.

Is it wise to reinstall windows if one have lost all the drivers CDs?
