i'm not a mac user but open your system prefs and set your installer disk as the start-up disk - then restart. sometimes keyboard functions during start-ups don't work properly.

yeah, good idea mitsurgi.
also, if that doesn't work try restarting from the tiger disc and choose Disk Utility / Tools (whatever it is) from the file menu. That should see your disc and let you run a few tools over it. The disc might just need some work before it can install. maybe.

I had a similar problem upgrading from 10.2.
I ended up having the wipe the drive and install. that worked but it sucked bad.

i also had problems installing tiger from 10.2.
upgraded to 10.3 (panther) then used disk utility to verify and repair the destination disk (dont know if this is necessary) but then tiger installed without glitch

if you do a clean install, it might be better in the end anyway...but you gotta backup everything...which sucks...

yes, clean installs are usually better, just make sure you back up everything, even email if you use a client program
