a few issues of the FADER ago, there was a wrap around on the mag for the nike lebron campaign.
its about 100lb card with this weird rubberized-feeling finish. its not synthetic, because you can see the fibres if you rip it in half.
i don't know if this ran around any other magazines, but i'd love to use some of this paper if i can find it anywhere. my paper rep hadn't seen anything like it before.

Is the Curious Touch range?
- MLP0
who makes that? i'll check it out. i've never seen anything like it...

if it is a curious paper be warned that they require extra drying time.--the soft touch one is awesome so long as you don't have a lot of coverage.

how feasible would it be to get business card on the curious collection?
how would i go about doing that? just call them up and have some sheets delivered to me?

you'd be better off talking to a local paper rep if you only need a few sheets (and by few I mean 50 – 200)

that stuff is sick - it is a great alternative to plastic - and it is pretty affordable.

i don't know what a paper rep is. can i just send my print guy a link and have him do it?
- spendogg0
Just call up unisource or xpedex - or what ever is in your area, they will send you samples all day.
- scarabin0
what size sheets are used for standard business cards?
- ricstultz0
scarabin, if you live near a city there should be plenty of paper places... Unisource is a big one in most cities. Call, ask for their sample department, tell them what you want, tell them you need it fast, give them your info. It will most likely be at your door the next day.

sample sheets are usually 12.5" x 19"

maybe...
baiscally, from my experience, you'll have local paper distributers in town (they supply to offset printers..ect.) They have sales reps that work for them. Their job is to inform the printers and designers in town of papers they carry so they use them on thier projects.
I am usualy able to get samples or a few sheets right away for free.
but that is just me.I don't mean for this to sound patronizing... but that is my description of what a paper rep is.

thanks a ton for the link... interesting - my xpedx rep is the one who hadn't heard of it...
i'll agree with paper reps. its hard to get anything out of them until you start placing orders. then they will get you whatever you need FAST.

i was planning on using this unprinted with a die cut... i was surprised the nike band has lines under 1 pt on it that are sharp

i got these swatchbooks, but the rubbery texture paper they make doesn't come in black.
anyone know of any other paper companies making this?
