that's ridiculous how congress is thinking of getting rid of public broadcast that is commercial free. in a time when 54% of 4-6 year olds would rather watch tv then spend time with their fathers, it's bad enough the television is such a prominent force. to get rid of the only decent television for children on the airwaves and then basically allow full exposure to massively consumeristic advertising will plummet society into an even greater selfish state than it already is in.
absolutely horrible.

omg. i read that as pbr (the beer) and though npr was another beer.
i was more worried about them taking away the beer then a broadcast station.

that is kind of disgusting.

Fascinating:
"Some e-mail petitions never die off completely — they periodically go through fallow periods during which they cease to circulate widely, but eventually something occurs that prompts people to begin forwarding them anew. This petition to help save the NEA from funding cutbacks was created a decade ago, and even though it long outlived the situation it was originally intended to address, it has been circulating for so long that the circumstances it describes may finally have come to pass."
