I awoke this morning from a very vivid dream. I dreamt I was standing in the backyard of my youth, staring up at the tree tops set against a deep blue sky. I felt overwhelmed with that nebulous sense of joy that is only experienced when you are a kid and the world and life seem so vast and uncharted and exciting. I awoke with the feeling still lingering though it quickly dissipated. Almost brought tears to my eyes. I miss that sense of awe. It's been so long.
Am I saying this out loud? Sorry. As you were.

the mind is an amazing space. it is filled with every little memory of your life and every once in a while it will give you a deep peek into the archives.

it's cause as every year goes on you lose something and life is less real. Numbness sets in.... :(

So true. And I think it's the blissful ignorance of youth. We were so unaware of all the bad in the world. Cynicism was absent. Only wide eyed wonder. Sigh.

Yep. It's like Christmas. When you are a kid it's the BEST. These days, at 32, I'm like is it Christmas today? Just not the same.
On that note....

As we descend into the valley,
Down a river bathed in gold
From the fires burning above.
I think of you and the silence
and I'm content.
Into the city of the night.

I miss that too. When life was like a perfectly written book, and everything fitted in.
Now it's a poor magazine.

Well, yeah me too. But I was talking about that surreal feeling of overwhelming happiness about life that only seemed to happen as a kid. I experience happiness now, but not like that.
- JazX0
I'm with you

you said 'uncharted'. that's what makes it wonderful i guess.
that's why i'm buying a fucking KAYAK!

lmao @ jazx. and on top of that we have sex huts!
anyways, yeah driftlab, but it is also idle hope to expect it can be that way since you're obviously not a kid anymore, however, i still see things i haven't seen as a kid, be it new, or with different eyes and yes it never has that ultra naiveness to it but still, one can be in awe.
