Question:
If there's a kid who's allergic to peanuts in a classroom, should it be the rest of the classroom making an effort to watch out for what she's allergic to (and stop bringing those items to school) or is it the kids responsibility to be wary of things they are allergic to?
I'm guessing it's a bit of both? My little sister (12 yrs. old) is allergic to peanuts, sesame seeds, nuts (among many other things) and even though there's a policy against bringing these items to her classroom and eating them, kids still have them.
My mom is trying to figure this all out right now, as it has become a big problem lately.
Even though it's probably asking a lot for all these students & parents to be super careful, it's a life or death situation.

if its thats serious the kids should know better.. especially at 12 years old

if it is life or death - natural selection will rear its head. if this kid is smart enough to survive the allergies he/she will deserve to live. if you are aware of the problem, survival instincts should take over.
