I thought the film was good enough to warrant reading the book.
Plus loved Martin Freeman as Arthur Dent. Top bit of casting.

Liked the film. Didn't like marvin. Mr Fry is perfect as the voice of the guide though.

Hitchhikers sucked. A continuous follow up of badly designed set pieces, without any feel of dynamic and dramatic build-up.
And the movie didn't even get distribution in Europe, apart from the UK.

what?? so it won't arrive to spain!??! damn it!!
i enjoyed so much reading the book... it was one of those that you suddenly lough out loud of something you read, then you turn around and realise that people are staring at you like if you were a maniac.
and then, you keep laughing.

The book is obviously better, I've never actually read but i've had friends that read it and say it's great. The movie is good, but yeah it's nothing special, how ever there is a BBC mini series which is absoulutly horrible but kind of funny, but there are some throw backs in the new movie that realate to the old mini series.

it was a b+ movie, with enough good touches to make it a pleasant experience
