I would have to say that plum sauce seems like one of the most under estimated condiments. It is great with chicken; chiken fingers to be specific. I post because the last time I travelled to the states and asked for this sauce from numerous restaurants across multiple states, I was given weird looks and offered honey mustard as a substitute.

Yiech! I'm giving you one of them weird looks right now!

If you want to discuss underestimated condiments and food in general, say sun dried tomatoes. I love sun dried tomatoes. Let's discuss it.

In Canada it is normall to get this with say a basket of chicken fingers at a restaurant, and it is really good, is like an Asian sauce, similar to sweet and sour sauce.
I recommend, if you live in the States and have not tried this, to do so.

thanks. thats so interesting

What sorts of things do you put sundried tomatoes on?
Mayonaise on french fries is good too.

You Canadians are something else. Yeah dude, me and my girlfriend have this thing we call chicken shooters.
Basically you get a buttload of chicken McNuggets and stir em up with sweet n' sour, mayo, and butter berry salad dressing.
Salt and pepper to taste and serve hot. Best washed down with a cool glass of good wine.

I heard something a while ago and I've just tried it:
1. Take leaves of endives
2. Mix 2 parts cream chese and one part roquefort.
3. Put the mix on the leaves
4. Sprinkle with dark (80% +) grated chocolate
5. Serve with sweet tokaii type wine.I'd like to give that dish more credit 'cause it's great.
And plum sauce sounds nice too.

sun dried tomatoes are so 1993.

Ok, tomatoes
1. Take a small (2x2 inches) pice of white bread.
2. Put a slice of sundried tomato on it.
3. Put a piece of chevre chees on top of the tomato
4. Pour a little bit of muscovado or brown sugar on top of the cheese
5. Drip some olvie oil or better yet balsamico vinegar on the very top.
6. Grill in oven until the bread and/or the cheese has the right color.

Plum Sauce rules. I'm not sure where you live but it's widely available in America. Any Chinese restaurant I've eaten at has it, and some McDonalds have it also.

cranberry relish is where I'm at right now.

Plum Sauce is the shit... if you don't know now you know.

Plum sauce is good with Moo-shu dishes, where you take a spood and spread some on a flour pancake then roll up some veg or pork or chicken. I've had it with nuggest at McDonalds also. French fres might taste good wth it. It's one of those sauces that you would think goes really wll with anything.

Hey, I had some roast duck with plum sauce from my local chinese tonight.
Yep, it's the shit (even though that doesn't make it sound really tasty, does it?)
