Fontographer
FontLab
TypeToolAnyone have experience with making fonts or using these programs? Advantages/disadvantages?

Font Lab definitely has the most features and is definitely the "professionals" tool of choice. Although fontographer is great for making fonts quick and easy.

Thanks for the replies. Is fontlab like Illustrator in its vector tools? I haven't had time to use it yet.

Fontlab as well.
You can use illustrator if you want an import or use the tools within fontlab. The operation is pretty close but I suggest drawing them in fontlab, there alot of features that make it easier and more accuate inside fontlab. If you can draw in illustrator you should have no problems with the tools inside FL.

Also theres a book if you have never worked on a font before, called Learn Fontlab fast, for the most part it is pretty good in getting you started. I have been using it and things are coming along nicely.
