Damn bringing back memories. I remember I would get the beat down from my parents if I did something wrong....I"m still scared about pissing off my dad! =0

lets be real... there is a great deal of responceability in those who have massive power and dictate society. Yes, parents and the familiy unit are forever important, but the powers that be arent doing such a great job at helping the situation of things either.
Like I said, society as a whole is sick right now. And you can post pictures of Saddam or OJ or MJ but the most evil of them all hide behind perfect hair and white smiles.
What to do? I'm not sure. But it's painfully apparent that this agenda of hate, violence and sepratism is benifiting those in high power in some perveted way.

no you're wrong. i was simply saying it is NOT always the parents fault. don't be stupid

the murder rate in most US cities has fallen in the past decade, but you wouldnt know it from watching television.

feel good stories on the news don't have as high of ratings as the death of a kid. sad.or when some jackleg catches on video a couple ducklings walking across a sewer grate and fall threw. then the city goes on shutdown to rescue the ducks. i shit you not happens every year and they have 'special reports' on it. fuckin insane.

yeah, that was my point about NYC and other inner cities mrdobolina. you're right

Can't parent when you're in the slammer. Take a look at the statistics of the ethnic groups that are in US prisons. No need to say more.
- Tara0
yes, parenting does have a lot to do with it, but you have to be careful not to always blame the parents. we can't just assume that they are bad parents and that's why they have bad kids. bad kids do happen to good people and sometimes these kids get so out of control and the parents don't know what to do. they just don't know how to make it better.
- JazX0
Most kids just need a good kick or smack in the *ss. Ohhh but no, that's violence. Can't do that today. //Discipline is WRONG.

d5ive, i don't want to write an essay, but out of almost 30 younger cousins of mine on both sides of the family 6 have videogame systems. 2 of which have a remotely violent game. why? parenting. and the 2 that have the violent game are 14 and 16 and they've been taught right and wrong since day 1 and are unbelievable well behaved young adults. why? parenting.
i agree with you but also i say that no matter how much violence in games, tv and movies, it can and should be trumpted by good parents who either keep their kids away from it or teach them the difference between violence in a game and violence in real life ya know.

You're right, randoman.
I think there's a huge problem states with the family unit actually being a family unit.

This makes me sick. We have a major problem here in the states. And I blame it mainly on our society and the lack of family and community support. Too much violence in TV, movies, cartoons, toys, etc. Not enough parents spending quality time with their children and one huge thing for me is freakin video games. You just walk down the game aisle in Target or whatever and count how many violent games there are. Not enough reading at home or parents sitting down to help with home work. The family structure is crumbling and fast. It sends a ripple effect to everything. We want to put our blinders up and just live in the surburban bubbles that we build around us. I'm not saying that I'm holier than though. But I try. I have three kids and it scares the crap out of me. The stuff they tell me that other kids say and do is frightening and this is just in kindergarten and third grade.
