ok, so here we go. I decided tonight, I was going to come home and do my portfolio. not my REAL portfolio, but the one that I want to shop around town to local printers / graphic design companies. I don't know. I really just want to be able to ditch my current full time work ( gas jockey ) to find something better. I plan on spending tommorrow really fixing this up to look alot better.. but should I wait ? should I finish my flashy, self indulgent portfolio ? or keep it bare bones like this ? is it even worth it for the work that's on this ? ( I will add more tommorrow.) I don't know anymore. I just want a new job. Alright, thanks everyone.

where is tara when you need her ?

summa bitch. it's dead in this place.

I like your work!
I'd say keep it simple, unless you're looking for a flashy web job.

I never sleep.
Your portfolio looks ql. Keep it simple. Just the fonts are somehow tiny, I can't read the text on my screen (but maybe that's just because I never sleep. I should. Yeah, definitely. Right. Aha)

damn ! 2 folks.
yeah, I really want to change alot of it. the type is small right now. probably not that legible.
tommorrow is the more fine tune day. I just need to organize all the content.

i just which the descriptions of each peice werea lil bigger. screw the "designer" small type.

keep it simple and maybe increase the text size or make it darker...

ra ra spiffing marvelous.
Looks well nice, suspicious heraldic motif in first piece tho, don't know if that's allowed 'round these parts ;)

However some of the images are totally screwy in firefox (v1.0.4 mac os v10.4). looks fine in safari tho.

six sided should be hyphenated

It feels like I've seen this site 6000 times...
theres nothing really creative about it in my opinion.
I really like your work at the bottom of the page but the work at the top of the page is really bland. That crest you use in the very first piece was just downloaded... that is barely any of your work so I worry if the rest of the pieces are like that.
It's hard to judge because you don't have a lot of work up and this whole thing is like one big jpeg.
I hate to be the dick but my best advice would be to get some more work and maybe think of a different way to present your work because it just seems played.
Josh.

six sided should be hyphenated

(May 31 05, 12:15)i was going to say that but i didn't want to sound like a teacher. but i agree, should be hyphenated.

I just thought he should know. Poor grammar and punctuation on sites or resumes makes you look sort of dumb.

Josh,
I appreciate the honest opinion. That was actually more of what I was expecting. The hydro 74 vector was downloaded, but that was the only thing that wasn't created from scratch, because the idea of the poster was something simple, with heraldry. That seemed to fit it the best, even when I spent time fucking around, the simple version was the best.
This portfolio is not the one that's complete, this was just the jpeg of something I was working on. It's more just to get a job at a print shop. I was waiting for more work and, better work at that. But I reall just want out of my current job.
Annnyways. I like your site, but do notice you use the magurno brushes too. But really good work altogether.
