Can any of you folk direct me to examples of an HTML site with flash nav?
Better still can you help me out with a little problem I got - I need to find actionscript that will tell a button to change state dependant on the HTML page the user is on?
I'm no flash expert!
Anyone help?

you can pass variables from html to flash by simply embed it as follows:
'myFlashMenu.swf?page=about'
then in your flash movie, you check for the value of 'page' to highlight the right button

im no expert tho either so i cant help you with the script part

Thanks guys.
loahn - that option requires ttext to be dynamic doesn't it? This is my problem - text in nav needs to be static.
Any other suggestions?

why does the text need to be static?
- loahn0
No, what you'll have is a set of movieclips with the buttons inside them. Each movieclip will probably have an active state. Then you'd set up a listener object to check what the current value of 'page' is (based on your html code) and send instructions to the correct active movieclip.
Any clearer? This input space is too small.

Nairn - text needs to be static from an aesthetic point of view.
loahn - thx again - unfortunately I'm a complete luddite when it comes to flash so although i get the general jist of what you're saying I don't think I know how to put it inot practice, any ideas of where I might find a tutorial - I have searched but I don't really knwo what to search for!

the text can be static... (i.e not dynamic.. .so you can kern it properly/import paths etc)
You'll just need to colour it or something to distinquish the chosen one.
