anyone know of a bit of software (maybe a firefox extension) that resizes the browers window to the most common screen sizes,

i'm pretty sure favelets will run in 'any' browser. although i haven't tried.
you can resize ie, mozilla and firefox by typing *javascript:resizeTo(x,x);*
where x,x = 800x600, 1280x800, etc...
you can google favelets for more info.
the web developers tool bar extension in firefox/moz has a resize utility that you can customize.
it is a great toolbar.

The Web Developer extension will do that for you plus oodles more.

i do what sparker said...just create a new bookmark and in the address field use javascript:resizeTo (x,x);
i created a few of them and have them in a folder in the bookmarks bar in my browsers...you don't need any software or extensions or anything

bookmarklets.com has been around for a while but getting kind of old now. It has the javascript links set up already but it's an old site so you'll have to customize the boomkartlets to make 1024x768.
