Newcastle, Manchester and Brighton are places I would choose to work in outside London.
Manc is fucking amazing, especially if your into music. Salford is surrounded by barbed wire isn't it?

manchester is a great city, loads going on and a great fashion course at salford [which means chicks!]. you should be able to get work there if yr any good. if it were me I'd go straight for the bright lights of london!

Edinburgh or Glasgow are both good cities to live in as a student.
What is it you are looking to study? Both art colleges are pretty well respected, Glasgow more so.

Manchester's brilliant for students. You get your rough parts whatever city you go to. I'd also reccommend Edinburgh....

Loughborough or London...
Let's ponder on that one for a while shall we?

manchesters great - I've just moved here after 5 years in London - no regrets really. there's loads going on, and I imagine the student scene is probably a bit tighter up here, as generally things are a bit more accessible up here.
i know a few people people who went to Salford, it seems like a good course.
