"haut" et "bas" is the shortest.
I am French Canadian.
As for French being catchy or not, i suppose it is not as much as English, but has other benefits, when you know it, in its complexity lies its beauty.

Seriously though, French isn't my first language, but I think "feuilleter" would work. I'm assuming you mean an up and down button that scrolls text or something?

no wait - i cant have you put that on something and then show your boss!
There are plenty of people here who speak french, wait for one of them to answer.
I'm so sorry.

does anyone know what the best translation in french(canadian pref.) for an "UP" and "DOWN" button?
the google language tool has
"vers le bas" and
"vers le haut de"
I was hoping for something a little shorter.
Thanks.
