i think i want to go back to my roots and start making sculptures, metals ones. i've made some before by welding together some pieces and cutting them up. i've never known a way to polish them so they're shiny. i've used a grinder to give them a nice texture. so right now i'm googling for metal polishing techniques. do any of you have sites you used for such info?

sand it with a fine grain sandpaper and lots of water, that will help you get a smoother texture.

you can buff them with special polish and buy an buffer attachment for your power drill, i do this with old bike parts. works quite well.

do they have different kinds of buffer attachments for different kind of metals or just one universal one?

i used to know a girl who could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.
i could give you her number, maybe she could help.
