pfff i am furious ... it is slowwwwww ! incredible !

I heard Adobe is buying Macromedia, so that could be a very good thing.

Wow. These Mac's sound really good. I might trade in my PC and buy one to run half my software...

i do find it ironic that mac`s are supposed to be geared up for design work, yet macromedia products run badly on them.

i'm not running tiger, but try this. it helped speed mine up in panther:

i also find it ironic but in a shitty way. hopefully adobe fixes that shite.

this is just an off the cuff assumption on my part, but i think one of the reasons why certain suites run shitty on osx is because they're trying to port what is basically win32 or proprietary os9 formatted code to the unix base.
since neither adobe or macromedia ever thought unix or linux would be a viable platform for their over-priced software, the (code) framework for those programs doesn't work well with darwin.
true that osx/darwin isn't pure unix. but, it is close enough to cause headaches for mm and adobe developers.
like i said, just an assumption.
i base this guess on the fact you can install open-source unix based software pretty easily on osx but you can't install any of the mm or adobe products on freebsd...at least to my knowledge.
makes sense that their porting sucks.

USE THE PATCH
there is an update for MX4 which cleans up the problem and now it runs smooth. go find it.
and blaming the performance of a software title on an historically productive machine is a bit silly.

the funny thing is i installed dreamweaver mx on my machines while running panther...they were so slow that i grabbed a copy of bbedit and beefed up my handcoding skills like crazy...so in a way dreamweavers suckiness made me a better coder...now dreamweaver is deleted

What would you guys recommend? Quark , Dreamweaver or GoLive to design a simple portfolio web page. On a mac. Easily?
Thanks in advance peeps
- sparker0
bbedit for markup and scripting. photoshop for graphics.
- innit0
I forgot - I only know very basic HTML... BBEDdit? Never tried it..Crap - should I?
- determinedmoth0
Quark?! For a webpage?
That sounds like trouble.
- innit0
Exactly what I have been trying to tell somepne here at work. they insist its fabolous but I need arguments against using Quark and for using oher better programs
