Okay it will either bite or be the one of the best albums of the year.
Gotta love iTunes™.
All names that begin with lowercase "i" are now trademarks of Apple, Inc.

I have not come to a conclusion yet. Different or odd? I will have to report back at a later date.

I've been playing it non-stop in my car, at home, and at work for three weeks now. Don't even have to skip a song.
fucking brilliant

I never skip a song either, but everytime i hear "Everyday.." I wish i just had.
I couldn't recall what this album reminded me of but suddenly it came to me. NIN going pop? Filter!

Oh GOD! Don't say that. That's not an image I need in my head when listening to NIN.
Fucking hate Filter.

push it up so we can all evaluate the album!

scarabin had it up, but I'll let him post it again if he wants to allow more data transfer.

day two: Im enjoying the album, but Im not sure if it needs to grow on me or has it truely gone pop?
- devaur0
im still curious what everyone else thinks.
Im still unsure on my opinion.
Its slowly starting to grow on me though.
- devaur0
definitely does not sound like FILTER!!!

look up one of the fifty with teeth threads to see what we thought abut the album two months ago

It doesn't sound like Filter (well, there are obvious similarities). It has a slightly similar vibe. I always had this simplistic vision in my head: NIN - deep. Filter, Marylin Manson (one of Trent's toys) - shallow.
Now that is what 'with teeth' feels like to me, kind of shallow. Not in a hedonistic, pop chasing Filter way. It's like Trent feels empty and he makes a record of it, to keep things going and see what happens next.

Okay I have finally come to my conclusion. Impressive album. Definitely not POP! Amazingly enough Reznor has been able to pull off a NIN sound without it sounding dated.
I give it a 8 out of 10.
Great lyrics like always!
Songs that stand out for me are:
1. All the Love in the World
2. You Know What You Are?
3. Every Day Is Exactly the Same
4. Sunspots
5. Right Where it BelongsThe Collector sounds the most POP/Filter sounding until the Piano entrance.
The Hand that Feeds is POP, but addicting and still complex enough to come across NIN.

after 2 weeks solid listening i love it. some tracks have taken a while to sink in and i get it now.
i have to say though that 'sunspots' is (to me) the worst NIN track i've ever heard and i've got pretty much everything he's released and then some.
it definately takes soem work to get into some of it but well worth it. in my opinion.
