wrong forum Linda, nothing ever that sensible gets discussed around here,
now if you wanted to know about bleaching yr bingo, well...........

Ask 2advanced. I hear they're really advanced. They're fighting for the future with sea-pods and ninjas in ski-goggles.
- fate_redux0
But seriously though, we're going to see some really inventive ways of delivering content. Novel ideas like newsmap and Yugo's work will become more popular as people look for a balance between form and function.

sorry.
on a serious not the aquisition of macromedia by adobe will affect web design quite alot.
google obviously has a huge influence
there was also a small film posted on here called something like googlezon [ amazon, google and blogger] and the way in which the web develops. serach the pvn and you might find it.
another issue affecting web design are the media center pcs, in the uk they are laready talking about computer tax because of the decreasing numbers of tv's in homes and thus the loss in funding for the bbc
hope that helps

Thanks Undo, that's really helpfull!
Anyone else???
I've found some articles online but they're from 1999 - 2003, so I gonna need some more recent ones ;)

i guess you could look into css and more importantly accesibility that is going to be huge, and rightly so.
also i guess things like on demand video might happen soon.
- fate_redux0
The "Video on demand" thing has been promised for so long. But Cable companies are too greedy and too content with their current model.

v.true accessibility has had a n impact on the way all web pages are designed and this will increase.
blogger has been described as the "future for the web"
altho im not sure about that.
broadband has also/ will have a huge impact.

bleaching bungholes?

hello Linda,
you would most likely want to look at this thing called "convergence", which has been promised for eternity.
- sparker0
wikis, blogs, and sites developed on simpler, yet more deliverable platforms is the future.
the web on phones, media boxes, toasters, pcs, pdas, etc..etc.
this is why standards and the semantic web is so important.
the web is finally becoming the information and data resource it was designed to be...instead of a fucking strip mall.
- Kuz0
hello again Linda,
you might also want to widen your research to include things other than just "web" design. Sounds sooo 90s to me. I think p2p will also have a big effect on how we produce and distribute content. And that you will less talk specifically about "web" design, and maybe just content design? information design? something like that.
Something different will happen with internet on peoples TV, and tv on the internet. It's quite exciting i think.
- Kuz0
and i think sparker has hinted at important things. the netwrok will be back, as communication exchange.
"It is better to be a media creater than a media spectator" - some guy
the future is more simultaneous media creation and spectation combined. open source will have a big effect in that
- vespa0
cross-platform media.
i.e. content that can be reused to populate live feeds on tv / mobile phones / pdas, sites that hook up content to interactive tv, broadcasting your own content, and televisions with terrabytes will all affect the future of webdesign.
- vespa0
yea good point kuz, substitute webdesign with interactive design in my last post.

a) The future is Plastics.
b) Whatever you think it's going to be, it will be somethign different.
c) You are the future Linda. Embrace it, make it happen.
d) Forget web design. Get a career as a military contractor procurer. Millions to be had in the next decade I am guessing.
