isn't it funny how little mention of the UK elections there is in here? compared to the US ones, that is.
i know tony will get in again but i hope the lib dems can get as many seats away from labour as possible.

morning Vespa - I was thinking this the other day - the amount we all had to say about their elections over teh water and not a pip about ours :)
Foregone conclusion and maybe the first time I can't be fucked to vote. Feel a bit shite about that...

*tips hat

_smk don't feel shite just fucken vote!

but I'm such a lame apathetic child, I'm just going to leave it to the grown ups this year ;)

"Don't vote, it just encourages them."
- _smk0
ha ha ha :)

I think the reason there is less talk about it here, is we are less likely to fuck the world in the hoop, regardless of who we vote in.
Unless of course we are told to by or great friends acccross the water.

i think it's pretty understandable that no one can be arsed to vote. they're such lying bastarts!
but i'll be very happy to cast my vote on thurs.

precisely, it's easier to have an opinion on Pan-global Hoop Fucking than gypsy squater rights and the like :)
Where is RKS this morning anyway?
- vespa0
no idea where kilroy is. skt have you seen him?
there was quite a funny transcript of a john humphreys interview with jack straw in the independent this morning.
the techniques straw uses (as do all politicians) to dodge a very straightforward question is amazing.

Did anyone see the dispatches on channel 4 last night "why politicians can't tell the truth"?
Only caught a bit of it, but I think the jist of it was how all parties were arguing the same thing, just putting a different spin on it. Looked quite interesting.

No Vespa, off bashing the Poles somewhere I think.
Maybe when Moth gets in he could tell us more.

you have to vote. you just have to.
i always send in my ballot from overseas. it NEVER gets counted. the election is always called before they even touch the overseas ballots.
but i do it anyway. i guess i reckon that if i give up making my bed every morning and casting my ballot every election, there's no telling where i'll end up.

oh, and good morning all!

Why Politicians Can't Tell The Truth. it's a professional hazard i guess.
missed the C4 show unfortunately. what still pisses me off, no matter how jaded i get, is how once you get to the top you dont have to be accountable - you can squirm your way out of anything. i hope i never think that that's acceptable. i guess it means i'll never get to the top either!

Politicians dont tell the truth because they think the vast majority of us couldn't handle it. They are actually right in some respects. This isn't all their fault, it's also the fault of the vast majority who don't believe the individual can be heard. The vast majority who don't vote. The vast majority who, if you took away their vote would bitch, and whine, and cry, and you 'd never hear the last of it.
