The o'reilly one i like is Action Script for Flash MX: The Definitive Guide by Colin Moock
- function820
thats the best one to get, by far
- tehgee0
i have that one but i still dont get it :/

My friend is looking to get that book, but he was concerned because it wasn't mx 2004 with as2.0, would it make a huge difference?
- NegativeSpace0
Cause I know there is also that Action Script Bible for Mx 2004.

contrary to what some might think, learning O'reillys Flash MX definitive guide is essential to understand methods, function strcutuur and properties in Flash.
Even tough some will say is counterproductive since you'll have to relearn some/most of the core ideas behind Object Oreiented Programming, strict syntax and so on, one cannot start from scratch with AS2.0.
so
if you're a newbie, get O'Reilly Definitive Guide and afther that O'Reilly Essential AS2.0.
and
become a master of Google. It will answerr most of the undocummented features/issues/bugs of the new version of Flash.

thanks guys.. In the office where i was worked on the last year they have the o'reillys fmx definitive guide and it's ok, but I need fod AS2.0 and MX2004.
then, as unfittoprint says Essential AS2.0 should be great.

You don't need to care about AS2.
Trust me.It's really only for high-level programming.
If you're starting from scratch there are vastly more important general programming concepts to learn and a lot of experience to be gained from applying that knowledge along the way.
- unfittoprint0
if you're interested in developing your site 10x faster... 10x bigger
if you're interestd finding bugs in 15 seconds instead of 15 hours...
and in learning more, you should care about AS2.0
it isn't [only] high-level programming.
It's AS the way it should've been from the start.

I'm intermediate in AS, but I want to explore deep in AS2.0 and not only limit me to search specific things in google.

Learn AS2, it is not only for advanced but if you get the grasp from the begining you will avoid headaches in the future or having to learn it

sure, I only want to get fully deeped into the minimal details of AS2.0 that sometimes i get lost or get a headache for it.
