Hi! I just made a logo for a new company, and I don't know if it's a good one. I'm not really a logo designer so be nice :D

I like it... solid and clean. Nice!

looks nice. you might run into problems having a gradient. If iit is used in a smalll size you might lose that detail.

I dig it for the most part, but I have 2 questions-
1. What does it look like in solid black?
2. What does it look like when it's tiny? (i.e. on a Business Card)
I think detail is a good thing, but realize it might be lost. I'd also beef up the font, just a tad, not much.

I think it's a bit overdone

i like it too and wonder what would happen if it were in all black
im concerned with the lines in the columns
can we see it in all black?

I too think it's over done... But it's close.
some suggestions...
1) lose the gradient
2) I'd run the "A "off the extender of the "L" Like you did witht he "E" off of the "R"
(maybe try it with the S too)3) Also I would tryt o find try to find a column that looks like the "I" (Iit's been a long time since Art Hitory so I forget if it's roman or greek) It could add a nice mirring effect to give the graphic some symetry with the text...
Seems like a lot but they are little ... give it a shot... Your close!

simplify columns
lose gradient
E needs more weight/substance
also wierd how bottom of E is only part that connects to another letter.

also, maybe try reversing the R so the R & E would create same column effect the I & L do.

Thanks all! I agree on some points so I will take a look at it. I just heard the clients opinion and he is positive, so that's a good thing ;)

gradient is no good and the spacing that is created by moving the "A" in throws it off. Start by making it all one color gray and then shift the "A" back over to the right a bit. The fact that the bug works so well as a favicon speaks highly of it.

"...I'm not really a logo designer ..."
I think that puts it into perspective.
