Thanks Version 3; for making this clear.
Definitely a referral thread for anyone wondering why I don't like pop ups.

why dont we etch stone and mail them to one another
that would be great for commerce and notariety

I want to go back to cave drawings
- radar0
what does it matter anyway, this web thing is a fad, hand drawings and fax machines are the new thing.

seriously, it really depends on the target audience and content...
but talking strictly numbers, the use of splash screens and pop-ups means less people will see your site. period. fact.
if you're ok with that, rock on.

client: i seriously don't need cloned checking out my site, that's gonna be a problem.
coder: sure, no sweat, i'll just do a fullscreen and use pop-ups. that'll get rid of cloned.
client: omg! you teh man!
:)

enter? enter this, i'll be leaving now. window.open denied. and my favorite game: how quickly can i kill your fullscreen site?
- function820
full screen sites that still only use 400px in the center of the screen are the worst
- radar0
yeah!

and underconstruction sites can all fuck off
extraneous clicking and windows is fucking stupid
same goes for full screen
they are all like little reminders for me to close the window
keep up the good work
