Tell them its Change Fee Extravoganza time...never fails!
- tkmeister0
stop fussing!
you should have specified the number of revision rounds you'll do, so after 3 or whatever, you say that's it. if you want to change more, it'll cost you.
- taragee0
yes they are paying for changes.. im just SICK OF IT...
its a goddamn puny WEBSITE
not liek we are building the taj or something

So you're getting paid for easy work, and you're complaining why again?

cuz i want it OVER with DRAGGINg i hates it
lol monk i know but there is a "projec manager" involved - who got me as the designer on it - she is horrrrible
- dippy0
exactly, gee. Dragging on a project slows down your momentum, and messes up your ability to work on other projects as well. I say get out asap.

you need to start charging for changes.
put your boob down. er... your foot i mean.
if you don't they'll keep groping... er... walking all over you.

I was in a similar situation, and I basically insulted one of the partners while I was talking w/ a designer there. I knew he could hear me so I went on and on. I'm free from that gig =)

with freelance work:
- i always get half upfront
- only allow up to 3 revisions
- and make them sign off on all changes** if they go past the revisions there is extra charge and generally if i have other work i will let them know that their timeframe is now interfering with other work and their project may be delayed.
when freelancing it's all about the money and the amount of jobs you can get but once you let a client walk all over you - they all will. you have to be ruthless!
- t_rock0
yeah. just like everyone before me here.... just be honest and let them know that all the revisions go beyond the original scope of the project. it's going into overtime
- mirola0
let them revise all they want but sub-contract the gig out to someone who wants a bit of 'experience'.

sounds like your PM may have something to do with these agreed changes. i would off her and so you can get closure on this project.
- spiralstarez0
you may not be able to do it this time, but I usually set it out like this:
Before you start, have a contract specifying when you will have the designs complete, along with the # of changes you will do.
Then when the date is approaching and it looks as though their nit-picking will prolong, I tell them I am starting a new project the next week and that if they don't decide it will severely prolong their project, and that I am going to charge extra for changes.
Usually motivates a bit more consensus.
