sorry if i gave the wrong idea version
i am opposed to the whole GM/GE thing as well i just saw this article and thought WTF???

i find quite distressing when part of the world is starving to death and another part of the world is having an obesity crisis kinda hard to fathom really

so i posted the article cos i thought you sould all have a read
as its quite scary thats all..

not condoning GM/GE in ANY way.

Anything is abused sooner or later, you cant blame technology for that.

Not sure if its really needed to solve a hunger problem but if it might help it's worth exploring.

it is quite simple to solve the hunger crisis. grind homeless people and hippies into food.

nothing to genetically modify. just pure old fashion ground meat.

you could feed an army with just the worthless hippie population, alone.

in the US, and I imagine elsewhere, they have the problem of GM strains accidentally mingling with regular strains. so we have the potential for disaster mucking with the food supply, and no way of going back if it turns ugly, great!

genetical modification is just as hazardous as nature itself is.

nature has been modifying itself for millions of years.

Nature has been evolving and modifying for millions of years for a reason. Survival of the fittest and all that.

GM/GE is forcing unecessary change and can only lead to disaster. Messing with nature is a seriously bad idea.

    you sound scared.

you act like nature is a weak old granny in a wheelchair.

i got news. it is not.

it will fight back, whether it leads to a total reset is up to nature.

that is my point. nature is m ore powerful than anything on this earth, so mess with it. it will always win and it won't always be a happy ending.

    i agree.

but there's little we can do about it.

humans are just as persistent in their 'progression' as nature.

well, if it turns out to benefit ourselves (humans) it will still be destructive as our species will become way too large in number.

we can only hope there'll be some nice apt.blocks on Mars if that day comes..
